Product Owner (Corporate Payments)

Own product intent and backlog priorities to drive outcome-focused delivery within a Scrum team.

Role Overview

Translate business goals and customer needs into clear, actionable backlog items
Serve as the single accountable owner for intent translation, connecting strategy, customer problems, and execution
Partner closely with Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders

Responsibilities

Own Product Intent and Backlog
- Translate business goals and customer needs into actionable backlog items
- Ensure each backlog item ties to a defined outcome and measurable value
- Maintain and continuously refine a well-prioritized backlog
Drive Delivery and Decisions
- Make final decisions on scope, priorities, and trade-offs
- Balance short-term delivery with longer-term product outcomes
- Ensure delivered work meets intended business and customer outcomes
Lead Team Alignment
- Align the team on priorities, scope, and expected outcomes
- Drive clarity and accountability across the delivery lifecycle
Leverage Modern Tools and Practices
- Use AI to improve story clarity, acceptance criteria, and delivery efficiency
- Partner with Engineering to structure work for effective execution and validation (including AI code generation)
Partner Across Stakeholders
- Align priorities across Product, Engineering, and Business partners
- Manage expectations and trade-offs to maximize delivered value
Ensure Quality and Outcomes
- Validate release readiness with Engineering
- Track progress against success measures and adjust as needed

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Management, or similar role
Proven ability to translate business needs into structured backlog items
Experience in AP Automation, Commercial Card, Expense Management, and/or API integrations

Nice to Haves (implied by role)

Strong outcome/metrics orientation and clear linkage between delivery and value
Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams in Scrum delivery
