About the role
Role Overview
CORMAC is seeking a Product Owner to provide leadership and oversight for one or more product teams, guiding complex, cross-functional delivery across the full project lifecycle. You will help ensure deliverables align with program initiatives, roadmap priorities, and quality/security/accessibility requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and govern Product Team goals, objectives, and timelines, including staff feedback and annual performance reviews.
- Run and participate in Agile ceremonies as needed:
- Backlog Refinement
- Iteration Planning
- Daily Stand-ups
- Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Own product backlog: develop, refine, and prioritize user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical enablers aligned with Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
- Plan and commit work with the Agile team during Program Increment (PI) and Iteration Planning.
- Represent the team in PI Planning and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
- Align delivery with Product Management and business priorities/roadmap.
- Accept user stories as done based on acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Collaborate with System Architect and stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility and architectural alignment.
- Ensure continuous validation through feedback loops to meet user and business needs.
- Manage product plans and execution artifacts: schedules, risks, issue logs; proactively mitigate risks.
- Identify and manage risks, assumptions, and dependencies across teams and releases; report mitigation strategies to Project Director and Product Manager.
- Track team performance using KPIs.
- Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders, including demos of achievements and facilitation of status/decision meetings.
- Coordinate work across analysts, developers, data scientists, and SMEs.
- Oversee documentation, deliverable reviews, and QA processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal and client data security and accessibility requirements.
- Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Manage budget and schedule for multi-stakeholder projects and coordinate with client staff/contractors.
- Draft operational reports and liaise with stakeholders/contractors as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to lead product teams through all project lifecycle phases on complex multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to ensure feasibility, alignment, and delivery against acceptance criteria.
- Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and participate/lead PI Planning.
- Strong risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communication skills.

- Experience working in environments with federal/client data security and accessibility requirements.
- Familiarity with KPI-based delivery tracking and governance for product teams.
