Product Owner

Role Overview

Product Owner (Healthcare) for a remote position in the USA, supporting a healthcare digital transformation. You will partner with business stakeholders, engineering, Scrum Masters, and QA teams to deliver scalable healthcare solutions across payer/provider and related platforms.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary Product Owner for healthcare applications and digital initiatives
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and stakeholder input
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams in sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives
• Define product roadmap and support release planning with business stakeholders
• Coordinate with development and QA teams to validate features and resolve issues
• Track product progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines
• Drive continuous improvement in Agile delivery practices
• Support UAT and production releases as needed

Required Skills

• 8+ years of IT experience with 3+ years as a Product Owner
• Strong healthcare domain experience (mandatory)
• Experience with healthcare payer/provider systems including:
  • Claims processing
  • Billing and premium billing
  • Member enrollment
  • Healthcare digital platforms
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum
• Hands-on with Jira and Confluence
• Ability to write user stories and acceptance criteria; strong backlog management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with healthcare projects and/or large enterprise consulting environments
• SAFe Agile certification or CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner)
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulatory standards
• Experience with API integrations and healthcare workflows

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field
