Product Owner, Card Programs

Role Overview

Product Owner, Card Programs at Flex. You will own Flex’s card programs end to end, scaling a portfolio of card products across credit, stablecoin, and rewards. This is a business unit builder seat—owning the entire card stack from vendors to operations, not card fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Own every layer of the card programs stack: ledger, processing, servicing, fulfillment, plus BIN sponsor relationships and card network relationships.
• Lead processor strategy and maintain direct relationships with major processors and card networks.
• Drive technical and commercial negotiations and hold vendors accountable.
• Build the operational infrastructure to run five-plus concurrent card programs without seams.
• Architect the path to scale the portfolio to 5x+ volume growth (stated as >20x portfolio scale) while protecting customer experience.
• Create the operating model that makes scale possible.
• As the team grows, recruit the next layer of the card programs function.
• Translate card-issuing complexity into clear product decisions for the rest of the company.
• Improve internal communication across current, transition, and future card programs.

Requirements

• Have personally spun up at least one card program from scratch as the primary owner (secondary contributors are not a fit).
• Hands-on depth across ledger, processing, servicing, and fulfillment.
• Deep familiarity with BIN sponsor dynamics, issuer/processor mechanics, and card network rules.
• Ability to critically evaluate vendor explanations and call out gaps behind acronyms.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience scaling from one major card program to multiple concurrent programs.
• Strong ability to partner closely with engineering and lead an evolving business function.
