Role overview

Brooksource is seeking a Senior Product Owner (Product Owner III) to lead and govern delivery of a large-scale outage data and reporting modernization initiative. The role coordinates between business stakeholders, operational subject matter experts (SMEs), and IT teams to turn operational requirements into a prioritized product backlog for implementation of modern cloud-based data solutions.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Product Owner for outage data and reporting modernization efforts
Act as the liaison between business users/SMEs and IT delivery teams
Elicit, define, and manage business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Translate outage management and operational reporting needs into structured, prioritized backlogs
Govern delivery to ensure alignment with business objectives, timelines, and quality expectations
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across enterprise IT, analytics, and operational teams
Support migration from legacy reporting to cloud-native data platforms
Ensure reporting supports reliability/outage metrics including SAIDI, SAIFI, and CMI
Participate in roadmap planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and stakeholder communications

Required qualifications

5–8+ years experience as a Product Owner or Senior Product Owner
Proven experience operating as a traditional Product Owner in enterprise environments
Success working between business stakeholders and IT/data engineering teams
Experience with data-centric products, reporting platforms, or analytics solutions
Strong communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent organization, prioritization, and delivery governance skills

Preferred / highly desired

Experience in outage management, utility operations, or reliability reporting
Familiarity with outage/reliability metrics (SAIDI, SAIFI, CMI)
Experience with modern data architectures such as data lakes and cloud reporting
Exposure to cloud data platforms such as AWS
Experience in regulated or critical-infrastructure environments
