About the role
Role Overview
Product Owner at AMPS, partnering with Business Stakeholders and a Development Team to deliver value in an Agile (Scrum) environment. The Product Owner acts as the product face, owns backlog and prioritization, and guides delivery teams based on business needs and business value.
Responsibilities
- Act as the product SME for the products you represent
- Elicit and understand business processes, workflows, and needs to guide product direction
- Own day-to-day requirements and prioritization decisions
- Build and maintain the product backlog and establish a Product Roadmap for tools and systems
- Document business requirements, workflows, and use cases to support high-quality software development
- Create Epics using established templates and ensure required project documentation is included
- Assign initial priority, sizing, and business value; define Sprint Goals
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and refinement sessions
- Triage production bugs as needed
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to define priority and business value
- Support development and QA/regression; assist with test case generation/testing strategy when required
- Own UAT (kick-off, demos, and sign-off completion)
- Support code releases and communicate progress at Sprint Start, UAT Start, and Production Completion
Requirements
- 3+ years executing provider contracts using varying methodologies
- 3+ years network and vendor management experience
- 4+ years working with high-functioning software development teams
- 4+ years experience working in an Agile environment
- 2+ years direct business analysis experience
- 2+ years using SQL
- 2+ years experience with web portal and mobile application development
- Working knowledge of medical claim adjudication, payment integrity systems, and claim processes
- Working knowledge of relational databases and data structures
- Working knowledge of medical bill review processes and outputs
- Working knowledge of medical claim data, data flows, and processes
Preferred
- Technical data flow and system analysis experience
- Business Intelligence reporting experience
Tools / Skills
- Strong written/verbal communication, organizational, and critical thinking/problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance analysis for timely decisions and pay high attention to detail
- Jira and Confluence proficiency
- Ability to work independently and with a geographically distributed team; ability to report to a physical office when required
