As a Product Operations Manager – Scrum, you will facilitate and coach multiple Agile teams. You’ll remove impediments, protect team focus, standardize Scrum practices across teams, and provide metrics-based reporting to leadership. You may also help facilitate scaled Agile events (e.g., PI Planning) in organizations using frameworks such as SAFe.
Responsibilities
Scrum Facilitation & Team Coaching
- Facilitate core Scrum events: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint review, retrospective.
- Protect teams from outside interference and resolve impediments quickly.
- Coach teams and Product Owners on Agile practices: backlog creation, story slicing, definition of ready/done.
- Assess Scrum maturity and coach toward higher maturity at a sustainable pace.
- Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters.
Multi-Team & Program-Level Facilitation
- Support program-level ceremonies such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and cross-team synchronization.
- Identify, track, and resolve cross-team dependencies and conflicts before they block delivery.
- Standardize Scrum practices and reporting across teams while maintaining team-level autonomy.
Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report metrics including velocity, cycle time, predictability, and defect rates.
- Use Jira and Confluence (and AI-assisted tools where available) to reduce manual reporting and improve backlog hygiene.
- Ensure action items from retrospectives and Inspect & Adapt are tracked to completion.
- Maintain transparency with accurate, visible Scrum artifacts and dashboards.
Stakeholder & Organizational Leadership
- Serve as a primary process/delivery point of contact between Scrum teams, Product Management, engineering leadership, and other departments.
- Communicate risks and blockers clearly using regular, metrics-based updates.
- Advocate for Agile values and principles across the organization.
- Partner with Product Management to balance feature delivery, technical debt, and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years experience as a Scrum Master or in an Agile facilitation role, including supporting multiple teams simultaneously.
- CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) or similar credential (text cut off; certification is required).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe and program-level events (e.g., PI Planning).
- Comfort using AI-assisted tools to streamline reporting and administrative overhead.
