About the role

Role Overview

As a Product Operations Manager – Scrum, you will facilitate and coach multiple Agile teams. You’ll remove impediments, protect team focus, standardize Scrum practices across teams, and represent the team’s progress to leadership using clear, metrics-based reporting. Where the organization uses scaled Agile (e.g., SAFe), you’ll also help facilitate program-level events like PI Planning and cross-team synchronization.

Responsibilities

Scrum Facilitation & Team Coaching (Multi-team)

  • Facilitate core Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, Retrospective.
  • Ensure ceremonies are focused, timely, and drive real inspection and adaptation.
  • Create a trustworthy, non-judgmental environment that supports self-organization.
  • Protect teams during sprints; escalate and resolve impediments quickly.
  • Coach teams and Product Owners on:
    • Agile requirements
    • Backlog creation and story slicing
    • Definition of Ready/Done
    • Maintaining a healthy, well-groomed backlog
  • Assess Scrum maturity and coach toward higher maturity at a sustainable pace.

Multi-team & Program-Level Facilitation

  • Facilitate or support program-level ceremonies such as PI Planning and Scrum of Scrums (and other cross-team syncs).
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and resolve conflicts before they block delivery.
  • Standardize Scrum practices and reporting across teams while preserving team autonomy.
  • Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters and share facilitation/coaching techniques.

Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report metrics such as velocity, cycle time, predictability, and defect rates.
  • Use tools like Jira and Confluence, with AI-assisted tools when available, to reduce manual reporting/admin work.
  • Drive continuous improvement from retrospectives and Inspect & Adapt workshops; ensure actions are completed.
  • Maintain transparent, accurate Scrum artifacts and dashboards visible to the organization.

Stakeholder & Organizational Leadership

  • Serve as the primary process/delivery point of contact between Scrum teams, Product Management, engineering leadership, and other departments.
  • Provide regular, metrics-based updates on progress, risks, and blockers.
  • Advocate for Agile values and principles; influence adoption of improved practices.
  • Partner with Product Management to balance features, technical debt, and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience as a Scrum Master or in Agile facilitation, including supporting multiple teams simultaneously.
  • CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) or equivalent agile certification.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe) and facilitating program-level events.
  • Comfort mentoring other Scrum Masters and resolving cross-team dependencies/conflicts.
  • Familiarity with modern AI-assisted tools for reporting and backlog/admin hygiene.
