About the role
Role overview
Whatnot is hiring an experienced Product Manager to help shape the strategy, vision, and execution of key marketplace initiatives. You’ll work across the business to improve selling formats, inventory management, build ads & promotion tools, and scale the core platform—creating simple, high-impact experiences for users and the community.
Responsibilities
- Drive product roadmap and execution for a defined problem space, balancing short- and long-term goals
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, data science, and operations to deliver new features and systems
- Translate complex problems into clear requirements and high-quality user experiences
- Define product metrics and build experimentation frameworks to validate performance and user impact
- Communicate progress and priorities across teams and stakeholders
- Remove blockers and maintain alignment to keep teams focused and moving efficiently
- Contribute to the growth of product culture and processes
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience (ideally in fast-moving consumer or marketplace environments)
- Proven track record shipping complex technical systems or large-scale consumer products
- Strong product intuition and user empathy; focus on outcomes and adoption
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable with data, hypotheses, and experimentation
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution; zoom in/out as needed
Nice to have
- Experience partnering with Design and Data Science
- SQL proficiency
