Product Manager (UDS Army)

Role Overview

Join Defense Unicorns as a Product Manager for the UDS Army Platform (Platform-as-a-Service). You will own the product vision, set priorities, and ensure the roadmap aligns with customer needs and company objectives in a fast-paced fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision for the UDS Army Platform and drive its success (prioritization, alignment with objectives).
• Manage and mentor engineers, including career development and performance management.
• Lead product backlog planning and execution (prioritization, roadmap alignment).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between the company roadmap and customer requirements.
• Stay current with industry trends and adapt product strategy as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years managing software, platform engineering, or SRE teams.
• Passion for the intersection of business, open-source software, and national security.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity authorization processes such as ATO, FedRAMP, and/or continuous monitoring.
• High-level understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, platform tooling, and cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fully remote setting.
• Experience with open-source monetization models and with defining a product roadmap and value proposition.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Proficiency using backlog/project management tools such as Jira, Linear, GitHub Projects, or GitLab.

Nice-to-Haves

• Hands-on technical experience with platform or software engineering.
• Experience with DevSecOps tooling, software supply chain security, or compliance automation.
