About the role
Role Overview
The Product Manager – Technical Foundation serves as the connective tissue between CentralReach’s shared services (ETL, DBA, DevOps, infrastructure) and product development teams. This high-leverage role focuses on enabling technical teams, validating and prioritizing platform work, and ensuring clear cross-team communication in a highly regulated healthcare technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Team Alignment: Partner with shared services (ETL, DBA) to understand priorities and ensure product teams have visibility into impactful changes.
- Backlog Stewardship: Validate and prioritize platform-related work using business and customer impact.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the communication hub by translating technical efforts into business value and keeping engineering and product aligned.
- Release Planning: Identify dependencies and risks across teams to support proactive, low-conflict releases.
- Process Improvement: Establish recurring communication patterns, dependency reviews, and retrospectives to surface issues earlier.
- Risk & Dependency Management: Detect timing conflicts and cross-service impacts; help teams resolve them.
- Documentation & Transparency: Ensure shared services roadmaps, plans, and changes are documented and accessible.
- Testing & QA Coordination: Coordinate with QA and engineering so testing accounts for platform dependencies and infrastructure changes.
- Relationship Building: Build trust and collaboration with technical teams to improve information flow and problem-solving.
- Success Metrics: Define KPIs for the platform focused on productivity and efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
- Product Management: 5+ years in a software product role, ideally with exposure to platform, infrastructure, or technical teams.
- Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable messaging for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical Fluency: Familiarity with cloud-native platforms (e.g., Kubernetes/EKS), APIs, databases, and data pipelines; able to explain how infrastructure decisions affect product functionality.
- Release & Dependency Management: Experience coordinating cross-team dependencies in SaaS environments.
- Process Orientation: Strong ability to identify process gaps and drive improved practices.
- Agile Experience: Comfortable working in Agile development environments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to facilitate alignment across multiple teams with competing priorities.
Preferred Skills
- SaaS background: Experience with cloud-based, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Regulated industry: Healthcare technology or other regulated environments.
- Testing knowledge: Awareness of QA strategies and how infrastructure changes should be validated.
- Project/program management: Strong organization skills for running multiple initiatives simultaneously.
