About the role
Role: Product Manager
Own product delivery across complex Higher Education engagements as part of a cross-functional delivery team.
What you’ll do
- Backlog & delivery ownership: Manage the product backlog, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned to business outcomes.
- Requirements translation: Convert business needs and stakeholder requests into requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with teams: Work with engineering and design to ensure requirements are understood and delivered with quality.
- Agile execution: Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and day-to-day sprint execution.
- Delivery hygiene: Identify/manage dependencies, risks, and scope changes throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Continuous improvement: Use data, user feedback, and team insights to improve the product.
- AI-forward tooling: Use tools like Claude to accelerate documentation, research, and analysis.
Collaboration & communication
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate working sessions, requirement discussions, and decision-making forums.
Leadership & influence
- Own the outcome of the work (what gets shipped), not just individual tickets.
- Frame requests in terms of user and business outcomes.
- Support a reliable, high-performing team environment through clarity and good judgment.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of product management / product ownership experience.
- Experience in Higher Education with platforms such as Colleague ERP, SIS, and LMS.
- Strong understanding of Agile product ownership and delivery practices.
- Proven ability to write requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for cross-functional teams.
- Experience working directly with clients/external stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice to haves
- AI-forward mindset and comfort applying AI tools to product work (e.g., Claude).
