About the role
Role overview
As a Product Manager (Platform & Monetization) at Expel, you will lead product management for systems that govern how customers purchase, access, and use Expel’s services. You will architect the company’s Commercial Engine, translating pricing strategy into an automated, end-to-end product experience for quotes, activation, and usage/metering.
What you’ll do
- Translate business goals into pricing models (e.g., seat-based, consumption-based, or hybrid).
- Continuously analyze packaging to ensure it aligns with customer value.
- Define and manage the roadmap for the internal provisioning engine.
- Partner with Engineering to build value-metric tracking for accurate metering and reflection in both customer UI and billing systems.
- Identify and resolve activation friction and remediate revenue leakage.
- Act as the connective tissue between Sales, Finance, and Engineering to align execution and delivery.
- Bring a security-informed lens to ensure Expel’s detection strategy is clear, current, and comprehensive (from a broader strategy perspective rather than hands-on detections).
What you should bring
- 2–4 years of professional experience, including ~2+ years in product management or a pricing analyst role.
- Experience with SaaS operations, including service provisioning, data optimization, and customer support.
- Strong understanding of business metrics and how to influence them.
- Ability to communicate with engineers/IT about API-led activation and usage logs.
- Strong SQL skills and data-model understanding.
- High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and advanced financial modeling.
- Experience with Business Systems Architecture such as CPQ & Billing.
Nice-to-have / additional notes
- Work authorization limited to the United States; no visa sponsorship.
- Salary range: $114,300–$165,700 USD + bonus eligibility and equity. Benefits include unlimited PTO, parental leave, and excellent health coverage.
