About the role
Role overview
Join SpotOn as a Product Manager (Payments). You will own the strategy and execution for the end-to-end payments experience across the company’s hospitality ecosystem, including how payments are presented, authorized, captured, settled, and funded.
Key missions
- Define the end-to-end payments strategy while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance.
- Own the product roadmap for payments across card-present and card-not-present environments, with a focus on hospitality use cases.
- Partner with money movement and remittance functions to ensure accurate and transparent merchant funding.
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to ensure adherence to network rules and PCI DSS.
Responsibilities
- Set a clear product vision and rally engineering, design, operations, GTM, and external partners around outcomes.
- Drive product delivery for complex, technical payments capabilities.
- Use data to measure success and guide prioritization and experimentation, improving payment performance and merchant satisfaction.
- Lead customer discovery with merchants (B2B) through interviews and feedback sessions.
Requirements
- 5+ years product management experience, with 3+ years focused on payments/fintech or closely related financial services products.
- Proven product leadership: vision-setting, influencing senior stakeholders, making trade-offs under ambiguity.
- Experience with payment ecosystem players such as processors, acquirers, gateways, and/or card networks, ideally in platform or multi-tenant merchant settings.
- Customer-centric product discovery experience (user interviews, discovery, merchant feedback loops).
- Strong analytics: working with large payment datasets, dashboards, KPIs, and data-driven experimentation.
- Deep payments knowledge: authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, tokenization, risk, and chargeback flows for both card-present and card-not-present.
- Ability to communicate complex payment concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with merchant processing economics (e.g., interchange and scheme fees) and how they appear in settlement/remittance.
Nice-to-haves
- Not explicitly stated.
