Role overview
Product Manager, International Growth at Whatnot. Own the strategy and execution for experiences powering Whatnot’s non‑US markets—driving growth across acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention.
This is a remote-first role, with the requirement to be within commuting distance of one of the hubs: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York City, or London.
Responsibilities
- Own the international growth vision and roadmap, standardizing a high-quality buyer/seller experience across geographies while respecting local nuances and regulations.
- Drive systemic product unlocks (and reduce chronic friction) by identifying a small set of high-leverage opportunities across multiple markets.
- Continuously reduce country-critical issues, including bugs plus UX and localization gaps.
- Champion a hub-and-spoke model for international growth:
- Work with core product teams that own long-term platforms
- Ensure international needs are prioritized, unblocked, and shipped on scalable foundations (avoid one-off forks)
- Own international growth metrics and country scorecards, including:
- Acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and overall market health
- Use metrics to guide prioritization and hold DRIs accountable for outcomes
- Design and run experiments across the funnel, partnering with Data Science and UXR to understand behavior, size opportunities, and validate product bets.
- Translate regional insights into scalable productized playbooks, collaborating with regional CatEx/Sales, Ops, and Marketing.
- Ensure new features are global-ready by default, partnering with Engineering and Design to bake in i18n best practices, localization requirements, and regulatory constraints.
- Partner cross-functionally to unlock the next wave of growth in international markets.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product management experience.
- Significant experience as a Growth PM (or similar), especially owning acquisition, activation, engagement, and/or monetization in a consumer or marketplace product.
- Comfortable figuring things out iteratively, taking action, and staying close to users and the product.
Nice-to-haves (implied by role focus)
- Experience scaling marketplace or consumer products across multiple countries with localization/regulatory complexity.
- Strong experimentation skills (funnel testing) and data-driven prioritization.
- Ability to build scalable playbooks rather than custom forks per market.
