About the role

Role Overview

Prophetic is seeking a Product Manager with deep domain expertise in land development and real estate. This is an AI-augmented product management role where operational PM tasks are automated (e.g., triage, intake, status tracking, backlog scoring, stakeholder reporting, and structured document generation), leaving you to focus on higher-impact work: problem definition, prioritization trade-offs under ambiguity, and translating customer pain into product direction.

Responsibilities

Own the backlog and roadmap for one or more product areas across:
- Discovery: finding viable land opportunities
- Evaluation: validating feasibility (e.g., zoning, site analysis, market data)
- Execution: managing deals and pipeline
Define problems worth solving and convert customer insights, expert feedback, competitive signals, and market dynamics into clear problem statements with measurable success criteria.
Make prioritization decisions balancing customer urgency, strategic value, and engineering feasibility (automated scoring; human judgment required).
Serve as internal authority on land acquisition workflows, including:
- zoning research
- site feasibility
- entitlement processes
- competitive market analysis
Conduct customer discovery with enterprise homebuilders, multifamily developers, land brokerages, and industrial firms.
Maintain competitive awareness across mapping platforms, land data providers, and AI-enabled real estate tools.
Build conviction with stakeholders through executive summaries and clear framing of problems.

Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, data, and AI teams to ship product features that reduce the time from “interesting” to “confident to move forward” for clients.

Requirements

Strong judgment to drive product decisions under ambiguity.
Deep real estate / land development domain expertise.
Ability to translate customer needs and market/competitive signals into actionable product strategy.

Nice-to-haves / Additional Context

Experience understanding field workflows (land developers, brokers, and acquisition teams) rather than only feature requests.
Comfort operating in an AI-augmented product management environment where routine PM operations are automated.
