About the role
Role Overview
Product Manager for Energy Storage Controls & Telemetry at Verse. You’ll own the operational backbone of a real-time control platform that dispatches distributed battery fleets, ensuring reliable command delivery from cloud to inverters and telemetry ingestion back from the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and delivery for the control/telemetry layers where software meets physical hardware.
- Work across two product areas (pods):
- Fleet Telemetry & Control: device integration, real-time site controllers, OEM protocol translation, and local safety logic.
- Site-to-Cloud Integration: communication, configuration, and dispatch infrastructure connecting edge devices to cloud optimization.
- Drive end-to-end capabilities including:
- Modbus device mapping across multiple OEMs (e.g., Tesla, Sungrow, Fluence).
- Site-local control loops for export limits, demand management, and solar ITC compliance.
- Telemetry ingestion pipelines, alarm management, config synchronization.
- Dispatch path translating cloud-optimized schedules into real-time battery commands.
Requirements
- Product management experience delivering systems that connect software to hardware/edge telemetry and/or real-time control workflows.
- Ability to manage cross-functional execution across engineering and domain stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with energy storage, grid/market operations, and/or battery inverter and telemetry integrations (including Modbus/OEM protocol translation).
