About the role

Role: Founding Product Manager — Credit & Risk Engineering

Join Float as the founding Product Manager for Credit & Risk Engineering. You will own the roadmap sequencing for the Credit & Risk Engineering squad and drive systems that improve decisioning and automation, while managing risk decision operating costs.

Key missions

  • Own the roadmap and sequencing for the Credit & Risk Engineering team across three domains, starting with the tradeoff between de-risking risk infrastructure debt and building the FlexLine decision engine.
  • Be the source of truth for where the credit product roadmap ends and where credit engineering scope begins, in partnership with the GM of Credit.
  • Own the decisioning and automation systems that increase the speed and accuracy of KYB/KYC approvals, enabling Float’s risk operations team to hit approval-time targets.
  • Own in-app credit experiences and ensure the systems you steward keep Float’s risk operations safe and scalable.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time personally owning a credit underwriting or risk-decisioning outcome (not just supporting).
  • Proven ability to sequence a roadmap under capacity constraints, including the willingness to say no to work that seems mandatory.
  • Automation-first mindset: focus on how decisions become automatic, not just how screens look.
  • Experience building and owning infrastructure/internal tooling products where the primary user is another team (not an end customer).
  • Ability to negotiate scope boundaries with senior, opinionated stakeholders you don’t manage.
  • Comfort operating in compliance-heavy domains such as KYB/KYC, transaction monitoring, fraud, AML, payments operations, or disputes.

Nice-to-haves / Cultural expectations

  • Bold “0 to 1” builder; quick to experiment and learn.
  • Strong balance of speed and rigor, with continuous improvement.
  • Customer-first approach even when building internal systems.
  • Collaborative communication and a shared-wins mindset.
