Role overview

Join Cohere as a Public Sector & Defence Product Manager. You will own product strategy for Canadian public sector and defence accounts, translating government requirements into actionable product investments.

Key missions

• Own product strategy for Canada’s public sector and defence, translating deployment-specific needs into concrete product investment priorities.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to turn government requirements into actionable product requirements.
• Build and maintain strong government customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for AI adoption in regulated environments.

Requirements

• Eligible to obtain Top Secret Canadian government security clearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present to senior government officials and explain technical concepts for non-technical decision-makers.
• Direct experience working with or within Canadian government, defence, or public sector organizations (vendor/contractor/public servant).
• 7+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time with enterprise SaaS, infrastructure, or platform products sold into regulated industries.
• Strong cross-functional leadership to align engineering, sales, legal, and customer teams without formal authority.
• Active Canadian government security clearance (Secret or Top Secret), with strong preference for Top Secret for immediate defence/national security account engagement.
• Working knowledge of the Canadian government technology landscape (e.g., data sovereignty, Treasury Board policies, security classification frameworks like Protected B/C and Secret, and procurement processes).
• Bilingual: English/French.

Nice to have

• Experience with GC Cloud services such as Azure Government or AWS GovCloud, or Protected B/C deployment environments.
