Product Manager (Cloud)

Role Overview

Join Modular as a Product Manager (Cloud) to drive the product vision for a scalable cloud compute / AI model-serving platform. You’ll work closely with engineering, program management, and technical writing to deliver measurable outcomes grounded in real customer workloads.

Key Missions

• Own product vision and strategy for Modular’s Cloud Platform, informed by customer needs and business impact.
• Partner with engineering and AI application teams to design and deliver a high-performance, transparent AI serving platform.
  • Provide customers deep visibility and control over performance, cost, and execution.
• Define and manage roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform evolution.
• Engage enterprise customers and identify strategic integrations across hardware, cloud, and ecosystem partners.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of cloud architectures and technologies (e.g., Kubernetes) and/or experience with AI infrastructure platforms.
• Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance considerations for cloud platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Growth mindset and ability to learn from customers, data, and real-world usage.
• Experience defining product vision, making roadmap trade-offs, and scaling products from early adoption to production.
• Analytical, systems-level thinking around performance, scalability, and cost.
• 9+ years of product management experience (or equivalent experience as a software/AI systems engineer), including technical cloud/AI/data systems.
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience developing/training and/or deploying machine learning models to production.
• Startup experience (or strong understanding of fast-moving, dynamic teams).

Nice-to-Haves (Examples mentioned)

Experience with AI infrastructure and cloud services such as PyTorch, vLLM, CUDA, Vertex AI, SageMaker, or similar systems; plus strong knowledge of Kubernetes-based architectures.
