Product Legal Counsel

Role overview

As Product Legal Counsel on the global legal team, you will partner with Product, Business Development, Operations, Compliance, IT, Finance, and Marketing. You will lead contract negotiations and provide commercial and regulatory legal advice across the money transfer division.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee negotiations for a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Draft and negotiate:
  • Complex financial services agreements with domestic and international digital partners (financial institutions, service providers, fintech, etc.)
  • License agreements, including SaaS agreements, for digital solutions in financial services
  • NDAs and letters of intent
  • Online consumer terms and conditions (drafting and updates)
• Support Marketing with consumer-facing materials and agreements.
• Advise business stakeholders on expansion into new geographies.
• Develop and recommend positions on legal issues; provide analysis and advice on matters including:
  • Data privacy
  • Regulatory and marketing compliance
  • Disputes
  • Vendor management
• Align agreements with company strategy, requirements, and policies.
• Anticipate and mitigate legal risk; advise senior management on risk management.
• Help improve legal function operational processes (e.g., templates and rollout of legal processes).

Requirements

• Juris Doctor.
• 5–7 years of legal experience.
• Strong experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, including multi-jurisdictional matters.
• Experience in financial services, payment processing, and/or technology/digital industries.
• Ability to provide clear, succinct legal advice and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong time management for time-critical deadlines and ability to multitask across multiple clients.
