Role overview
The Product Improvement Manager evaluates hotels and develops Product Improvement Plans (PIPs) for Conversion, Reposition, Relicensing, and Renewal candidate hotels. You will partner with internal teams (Franchise Development, Franchise Services, and Owner & Portfolio Strategy) and provide expert recommendations to internal committees on hotel building suitability for brand approval decisions.
Responsibilities
- Organize and schedule desktop and field-based PIPs, communicating timelines, requirements, and expectations to stakeholders
- Assess hotel surroundings, building age, and physical condition to create renovation plans aligned with brand standards and guest experience
- Determine and forecast renovation scope of work needed for brand compliance and desired guest satisfaction outcomes
- Stay current on brand direction, standards, and hospitality physical plant requirements
- Negotiate PIPs with licensees and internal stakeholders, balancing brand integrity with approved concessions
- Educate and support internal/external stakeholders on renovation requirements, timelines, and compliance value
- Maintain strong relationships across Franchise Development, Franchise Services, Owner & Portfolio Strategy, and licensees
- Manage travel, budgets, and expense reporting per company policies
- Support administrative and cross-functional initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- 5+ years of experience in hotel operations, product improvement, renovations, or a related field
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Working knowledge of architectural/design/construction fundamentals for hospitality environments
- High attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Travel
- Up to 25% travel as required
Compensation
- $114,907 – $135,000 base salary
- Eligible for an annual bonus under Choice’s Management Incentive Plan (MIP)
