About the role

Role overview

Monarch Money is hiring a mobile-focused Product Engineer to own the mobile experience end-to-end as the personal finance platform scales. You’ll architect and ship new features for iOS and Android, optimizing performance and directly improving how members manage their finances daily.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Product and Design to build and improve core mobile product features (e.g., Budgeting, Goals, Assistant)
  • Architect, implement, and iterate on new mobile capabilities
  • Establish and improve mobile engineering best practices, including code quality standards and development processes
  • Mentor fellow engineers
  • Help shape longer-term mobile technical roadmaps
  • Maintain strong ownership from spec through production monitoring

Requirements

  • 4+ years of mobile development experience
  • At least 2 years with React Native and TypeScript
  • Working knowledge of native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin)
  • Product-centric mindset and pride in building for users
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical teammates

Nice to have

  • Experience building fintech or consumer financial products
  • Full-stack web engineering experience (React, Python)
  • Background in performance optimization and mobile app analytics
  • Experience at a high-growth startup (Series A–C)
