About the role

Role Overview

Product Development Manager – Home owns the end-to-end execution of fashion-forward, brand-relevant home products—from concept through market launch. The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, innovation, technical development, and merchandising, partnering across teams to ensure product quality, fabric innovation, and speed to market.

Responsibilities

Product Development & Technical Execution

  • Own the full product lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Translate brand vision, performance needs, and trends into technically sound product.
  • Lead development across performance knits and fleece.
  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs (construction, measurements, materials, trims, performance requirements).
  • Drive fit development through fittings to achieve comfort, mobility, and silhouette.
  • Manage prototypes, sampling, wash approvals, and shade consistency.
  • Lead daily vendor communication to ensure clear execution and timely progress.

Fashion, Trend & Fabric Expertise

  • Maintain deep understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, retail dynamics, and fabric innovation in athleisure and outerwear.
  • Continuously research new materials and performance technologies.
  • Test and evolve fabrics to improve handfeel, durability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Fabric/related teams to refine core fabric platforms and drive material innovation.
  • Translate macro/micro trends into brand-right, commercially viable product.
  • Ensure assortments are current, cohesive, elevated, and differentiated.
  • Partner with Design to align silhouettes, color, and materials with brand DNA.

Merchandising, Line Planning & Market Strategy

  • Conduct competitive market analysis across knit and fleece categories (trends, pricing, and white space).
  • Use performance and customer feedback to inform product decisions: sales, margin, sell-through, returns.
  • Apply strong understanding of brand demographic and identify meaningful white space opportunities.
  • Build seasonal line plans, SKU architecture, and assortment strategies.
  • Balance core, seasonal, and newness to support growth and innovation.
  • Support pricing strategy based on product value, complexity, and positioning.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Finance, and Inventory to align product strategy to forecasts and business targets.

Operations & Product Development Execution

  • Own/manage the product launch calendar and align it with seasonal strategy and commercial moments.
  • Partner with Operations, Production, and Inventory to ensure product lands on time in the right selling window.
  • Proactively manage timelines, dependencies, and identify/resolve risks early.
  • Ensure product readiness across development, QA, merchandising, and marketing ahead of launch.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment for on-time product launches.

Cross-Functional Partnership (Including Production)

  • Partner closely with Production to ensure smooth handoff from development through execution.
