Product Designer with Product Management expertise (South America or Central America-based)

Role Overview

ShakaCode is seeking a Product Designer with Product Management expertise to help shape product direction and strategy. You’ll lead design work end-to-end, with the opportunity to occasionally contribute to product strategy and roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Design (end-to-end):
  • Run user research
  • Create wireframes and prototypes
  • Produce high-fidelity UI designs aligned with the product vision
• Design-to-engineering collaboration:
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately
• Design systems:
  • Maintain and evolve the design system for consistency across the product
• Cross-functional partnership:
  • Collaborate with marketing and customer support (and engineering) for a cohesive product experience
• User advocacy:
  • Represent the user throughout the product development lifecycle

Nice to Have (Product Management Skills)

• Align design efforts with business goals and user needs
• Contribute to product roadmaps from a design perspective
• Help prioritize features and define product requirements to improve user experience and business impact

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a Product/UI/UX Designer with shipped products
• Strong ability to balance design execution with strategic product thinking
• Experience designing mobile-first and/or desktop-first
• Experience with both consumer and business systems
• Excellent English communication (spoken and written) and ability to present ideas clearly
• Proficiency with Figma (or similar design tools)
• Strong understanding of product strategy
• Analytical mindset with user research and data-driven decision-making
