About the role

Role: Product Designer

SumIt is looking for its first full-time Product Designer to own product design, the design system, and brand consistency.

What you’ll do

Lead design each cycle on the most important features, including:
- partnership accounting
- bank feed matching
- journal entry workflows
- and whatever the roadmap demands next
Own and evolve the design system (starting with Figma) from “started” to usable and adopted.
Prototype in code when needed (e.g., v0, Lovable, or raw HTML/CSS) and iterate closely with engineers to refine UX.
Run or join customer interviews; translate feedback from family-office controllers into workflows that hold up under real data volume.
Ensure brand consistency across product UI and marketing surfaces (website, marketing assets, investor deck, conferences, swag, etc.).
Establish team design practices as the team grows: design critique, design-to-engineering handoff, and Figma standards.

Who you are

Product-oriented designer with 3+ years shipping software.
Portfolio includes data-dense interfaces such as tables, grids, ledgers, and financial workflows.
Has contributed to a design system and is ready to fully own one.
AI-native: prototypes with tools like Cursor, Claude, or v0, and uses AI to synthesize research.
Comfortable coding prototypes: can build in HTML/CSS and use the browser inspector.
Opinionated on UX and able to defend design decisions.
Strong collaboration mindset with product and engineering (prefers working alongside engineers rather than handoff-only workflows).

Location / Work style

Brooklyn, NY (Dumbo) office.
First two weeks: Tuesday–Thursday in-office for onboarding.
NY-based folks welcome to use the space, but not required.
Remote folks: team meets at least once every six months.
US-based candidates only; no visa sponsorship.
