Product Designer

Role Overview

You’ll join the Product team to design experiences for SmartAsset’s consumer funnel and web platform—helping people research financial decisions every month. The team works in tight, cross-functional pods and iterates using real user behavior and live experiment data.

Responsibilities

• Design clear, usable interfaces across SmartAsset products, from wireframes to high-fidelity mockups within existing patterns and design systems.
• Create well-organized deliverables, including wireframes, user flows, mockups, and prototypes, that communicate ideas to PMs and engineers.
• Collaborate daily with your product pod (PMs, engineers, and marketing partners) to ship polished, cohesive experiences.
• Apply usability and accessibility best practices (with guidance from more senior designers).
• Use analytics and A/B test results to inform iteration.
• Contribute to and help maintain the design system and component library.
• Support user research and testing and apply findings to designs.
• Present design decisions, incorporate feedback, and stay aligned with goals and user needs.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of UX/product design experience for web and/or mobile applications.
• A portfolio demonstrating clean, usable interface work and clear user flows.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Ability to take design direction and incorporate feedback from PMs, engineers, and senior designers.
• Strong grasp of core UX/visual design fundamentals (including accessibility basics).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data-informed design and/or A/B testing.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how designs are implemented.
• Experience contributing to a design system.
• Interest in/exposure to fintech or other regulated industries.
• Comfort working in an Agile, fast-paced environment.
• Degree in Design/HCI or equivalent practical experience.
