Product Designer, Maternity Experience New York, NY; Remote, US (Hub cities)

Role overview

Maven is hiring an AI-forward Product Designer for the Maternity Experience team. You’ll own member-facing maternity experiences from 0→1 concepting through shipped features, using AI as a core part of how you think and design.

Responsibilities

• Design key maternity journeys and features end-to-end (0→1 to release), using AI to move faster and explore more options.
• Create functional, high-fidelity prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) rather than relying on static mockups.
• Design agentic/adaptive UX where AI:
  • anticipates member needs,
  • communicates confidence,
  • connects members to human care at the right moment.
• Define system behavior for uncertainty, including AI fallbacks and how trust is maintained in high-stakes healthcare.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Clinical, and Data to scope MVPs, shape model outputs into intuitive interfaces, and ship iteratively.
• Contribute scalable AI-powered patterns to the design system, including:
  • confidence indicators,
  • human–AI handoffs,
  • progressive disclosure of AI content.

Requirements

• AI fluency: uses AI tools daily with strong prompting skills (e.g., Claude, Figma AI, Relume).
• Vibe coding / prototyping: can turn ideas into working prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Technical depth: has shipped code to production and understands how design choices map to backend architecture and model behavior.
• Product design craft: strong portfolio emphasizing edge cases, micro-interactions, and resilient flows.
• Mobile & web: experience designing for mobile apps and responsive web.
• Pace: moves quickly without losing design quality.
• Mindset: member-obsessed with empathy; comfortable with ambiguity; energized by 0→1 and designing human–AI care relationships.
