Product Designer

Role overview

Product Designer at Keplaris — the studio’s first dedicated design hire. You’ll design high-clarity, data-heavy dashboard experiences and help lead design across both Keplaris products and client work, partnering closely with engineers from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design UX/UI for GeoIPHub and ClickFortify dashboards (investigating traffic, configuring protection, and making trust decisions).
• Lead design for client work, including Shopify storefronts, marketing sites, and SaaS interfaces built by the engineering team.
• Build and maintain the Keplaris design system in Figma, including components, tokens, and documentation engineers will actually use.
• Pair directly with engineers during implementation to refine details until shipped product matches the design.
• Contribute early to product decisions by participating in scoping conversations.

Requirements

• Dashboard fluency: experience with data-heavy SaaS UI (tables, charts, filters, alerts) and making dense interfaces readable.
• Commerce sense: ability to design e-commerce flows (product pages, carts, checkout) where clarity impacts conversion.
• Systems thinking in Figma: structure designs with components, variables, and tokens that scale.
• Engineering partnership mindset: understand tradeoffs (what’s cheap vs. expensive) and iterate without losing design intent.
• Craft under constraint: preference for shipping a tight polished v1 over unshipped concepts.
• Clear rationale: explain design decisions in writing to clients and engineers beyond taste.

Nice to have

• Portfolio examples that strongly feature dashboards and/or e-commerce and demonstrate component structure (not just highlights).
