Product Designer II

Role Overview

Modea is seeking a Product Designer II to create user-centered digital experiences for the healthcare industry. You’ll partner with clients and cross-functional teams to turn complex business and user requirements into clear UI layouts, interactions, and flows.

What You’ll Do

• Translate user and business requirements into wireframes, user flows, and pixel-perfect prototypes (using Figma).
• Advocate for design solutions with client stakeholders, clearly explaining the “why” grounded in research and business objectives.
• Conduct user research (e.g., interviews, usability testing) to validate designs and uncover new opportunities.
• Collaborate daily with Project Managers and Engineers in an Agile environment to ensure designs are feasible and implemented to spec.
• Iterate quickly based on user feedback, technical constraints, and stakeholder input.
• Contribute to and maintain design systems for consistency and quality.
• Analyze market trends and competitor products to inform design decisions and strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, interaction/visual design, and design thinking.
• 2+ years of professional design experience, including:
  • Designing and prototyping cross-platform interfaces in Figma
  • Working within Agile delivery teams and advising client stakeholders
  • Full design lifecycle: user research → wireframing → hi-fi mockups → usability testing
• Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare or another complex regulated industry.
• Experience in design consulting or an agency environment.

Work Environment / Location

• Flexible work setup: fully-office, fully-remote, or hybrid.
• Must be able to work at any location in Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina (unless required otherwise by job responsibilities).
• Office in Blacksburg, VA; occasional travel may be required for training or client visits.
