About the role

Role overview

Join Pinterest as a Product Designer II on the Design Innovation team. You will evolve Pinterest’s product design language, create intuitive and coherent user experiences, and explore new innovation opportunities, including AI-powered experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive, consistent product experiences in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Evolve the product design language and explore new innovation opportunities, including AI-driven experiences.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate parts of your design workflow, while validating outputs for quality and brand alignment.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to iterative improvement of experiences.

Requirements

  • Strong visual and interaction design skills, with experience designing for consumer products.
  • Ability to connect design craft decisions to user outcomes, product strategy, and measurable impact.
  • High attention to detail and ownership of end-to-end quality and cohesion, including accessibility and inclusive design.
  • Collaborative, low-ego working style with a growth mindset; comfortable learning and sharing feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs and/or design/creative AI tools) to augment workflow, with a clear approach to validating accuracy, quality, and brand alignment.
  • Experience designing within and extending a design system, balancing consistency with thoughtful innovation across surfaces/platforms.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including articulating design decisions and tradeoffs and explaining how AI fits into your process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice-to-haves

  • Portfolio showing shipped or in-progress work demonstrating both visual detail and systems thinking.
  • Comfort working in an iterative, experimental environment while maintaining critical thinking and strong judgment.
