About the role

Role Overview

Join the Contra Labs Product Designer network to be eligible for paid product design roles as projects match your skills. Work is typically 5–10 hours per engagement, though some engagements may be longer. In rare cases, full-time roles may become available.

What You May Work On

  • Evaluate AI-generated product design outputs for desktop and mobile interfaces
  • Provide clear, structured UI/UX feedback (layout, hierarchy, interaction patterns, accessibility, visual polish)
  • Help define creative benchmarks and taste standards for next-gen AI-powered tools
  • Contribute to research on how convergence/divergence (shared best practices vs. individual taste) affects design quality

How It Works (Selection Process)

  • Portfolio review of product design work (desktop/mobile)
  • Video interview describing experience and approach
  • Skills assessment (e.g., evaluating AI-generated UI outputs and giving feedback)

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality product design for desktop and/or mobile apps
  • Deep understanding of what makes interfaces intuitive and well-crafted (IA through micro-interactions)
  • Ability to articulate design/UX feedback clearly and constructively
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, experimental environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI and/or design tools
