Role overview

Bowerbird is looking for a Product Designer to create beautiful, intuitive experiences for museums, galleries, and collectors worldwide. You’ll design interfaces for complex, data-heavy workflows including cataloging, search, exhibitions, and AI-powered features.

What you’ll do

Design end-to-end product experiences from concept through pixel-perfect implementation
Create elegant solutions for complex workflows in cataloging, search, and asset management
Design responsive experiences that work well on desktop, tablet, and mobile
Conduct user research with museum curators and private collectors
Build and maintain the design system to ensure consistency across the platform
Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure high-fidelity implementation
Design AI-powered features such as visual search and automated cataloging
Create prototypes to validate concepts and gather feedback

What we’re looking for

3+ years of product design experience (preferably B2B or SaaS)
Strong portfolio showing end-to-end design process and shipped products
Proficiency with Figma and modern design tools
Experience designing complex, data-heavy interfaces
Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first principles
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain design decisions
Strong attention to detail (typography, spacing, visual hierarchy)
Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment

Nice to have

Experience with design systems and component libraries
Background in museum technology, archives, or cultural heritage
Appreciation for fine art, antiques, or collecting
Experience designing AI/ML features or data visualization
Front-end skills: HTML/CSS/React
Motion design and/or prototyping expertise
