About the role
Role: Product Designer (Contractor)
Type: 3-month 1099 contractor (remote)
Reporting Line
Reports to Sr. VP, Product Management
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end user experience for Aptarro’s denial prevention platform
- Design complex clinical and operational workflows, including:
- How providers review denial patterns
- How they act on recommendations
- How they implement prevention rules
- How outcomes are monitored
- Create:
- Wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Designs that balance usability with clinical/operational complexity
- Conduct user research independently (and synthesize findings), including:
- Interviews
- Usability testing
- Feedback synthesis to validate and improve design decisions
- Design data visualizations for non-technical users to communicate denial patterns and actionable insights
- Work embedded with Product and Engineering in an agile environment to iteratively deliver and refine solutions
- Translate ambiguous requirements into user-centered designs with clear rationale
What You Bring
- 3+ years experience as a Product Designer in B2B SaaS or healthcare environments
- Portfolio demonstrating complex workflow design and data visualization (ideally operational or analytics-driven products)
- Demonstrated experience conducting user research independently
- Ability to move from concept to high-fidelity prototypes
- Strong collaboration with engineers and product managers in agile teams
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and limited design infrastructure
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience designing healthcare/RCM/clinical decision support products
- Familiarity with denial management, claims workflows, or payer operations
- Systems thinking to design individual screens with the full workflow in mind
- Strong communication and storytelling to present/defend design decisions
