Product Design

Role Overview

WorkOS is seeking a Product Designer to shape interfaces and developer experiences across its product surfaces, including the Dashboard, Admin Portal, AuthKit, and developer documentation. You’ll partner with product engineers to deliver consistent, intuitive, and delightful experiences, while owning and evolving the design system (WorkDS and Radix).

Responsibilities

• Lead greenfield initiatives end-to-end: research, scoping, definition, prototyping, implementation, and iteration.
• Work directly with engineering to resolve complex technical problems and navigate ambiguity and feedback.
• Improve existing platform products (Dashboard, Admin Portal, AuthKit, etc.) with a focus on:
  • usability
  • accessibility
  • performance
  • consistency
• Dogfood WorkOS products and ship fixes/paper cuts directly to production.
• Engage with customers to gather feedback, uncover friction, and turn findings into reusable patterns and flows.
• Contribute to the design system in Figma and code (WorkDS and Radix), including creating, adapting, and deprecating patterns.
• Experiment with AI tools and emerging workflows to accelerate prototyping and exploration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product design, brand design, engineering, solutions engineering, and go-to-market.
• Work transparently: pull teammates in early and default to working in public.

Requirements

• 7+ years designing platforms and/or complex products with information-dense interfaces.
• Product-minded, systems-driven approach; ability to create new patterns or adapt/retire existing ones.
• Strong handling of real-world complexity: edge cases, error/empty states, accessibility, and technical constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to ship, learn, and iterate.
• Ability to clearly articulate tradeoffs and design rationale across the entire product.

Nice to Have

• Experience with developer tools, enterprise software, or technical B2B products.
