About the role
Role Overview
Odin is hiring a Product Design Lead to define and elevate customer experience as it prepares for a major US launch. The role spans both product design and visual brand identity, helping shape design direction, raise the quality bar, and scale how design operates as the company grows.
Responsibilities
- Set and evolve the design direction across product and brand identity, working with the existing designer, Head of Product, and the wider product team.
- Collaborate with founders to evolve brand identity, expressing the company’s philosophy, ambition, and cultural stance.
- Translate complex, regulation-heavy workflows and dense interfaces into experiences that feel clear, intuitive, and inevitable.
- Drive end-to-end design work while staying close to the craft:
- Explore complex problems
- Build and test prototypes
- Conduct customer conversations and research
- Convert insights into polished, production-ready UX/UI
- Create systems, practices, and feedback loops that enable consistently excellent work at scale.
- Make strong design decisions quickly, balancing speed, quality, complexity, and compliance.
Requirements (Must-Have Qualities)
- Deep user-centric mindset: advocate for customers; use interviews, data, and observation to understand real behavior.
- Exceptional craft: strong composition, hierarchy, interaction, and detail; high standard for shipped experiences.
- Reasoned and curious: challenge assumptions, ask sharp questions, identify root causes.
- Decisive judgment: make thoughtful trade-offs among speed, quality, complexity, and compliance.
- High agency: proactively identify what needs to happen, bring others along, and move work forward.
- Systematic discovery: establish repeatable learning methods and regular feedback loops.
- Clear and collaborative communication: articulate thinking clearly and provide engineers the context needed.
- Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, building structure from incomplete information.
Nice-to-Haves
