About the role
Role overview
Join the in-house Legal team as a Product Counsel to partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and GTM teams. You’ll help build and launch new health products at scale, keeping legal guidance aligned with an agile product roadmap and emerging risk.
Responsibilities
- Advise Product and Engineering on legal risks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide practical, business-oriented guidance on product, confidentiality, and regulatory considerations.
- Support go-to-market strategy, including positioning, product claims, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of legal experience, with strong preference for in-house product counseling.
- Experience supporting AI-based healthcare or data-driven products.
- Knowledge of privacy and data protection laws (e.g., HIPAA and consumer data frameworks).
- Experience advising on products involving PHI / sensitive health data.
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to support rapid product development cycles (frequent launches, iterations, updates).
- Experience with AI/ML product considerations, including emerging regulatory and risk landscapes.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with consumer health or DTC healthcare models.
- Background at a high-growth startup or technology company, ideally in health tech / digital health / AI.
- Exposure across B2C and B2B2C product counseling.
- Experience building/scaling legal infrastructure in early-stage environments.
