Join Bazaarvoice as a Product and Regulatory Counsel, where you will be the lead legal partner for our product, engineering, and technology teams. In this senior role, you will guide the development and launch of innovative technology products while navigating complex regulatory landscapes. You will focus on our company's artificial intelligence strategy, ensuring compliance with emerging global frameworks and mitigating risks associated with generative AI and machine learning. Additionally, you will provide legal advice on technology-related matters, monitor emerging technology laws and regulations, draft and negotiate technology agreements, and advise on intellectual property protection and enforcement. Key missions: Guiding the development and launch of innovative technology products while navigating complex regulatory landscapes, with a significant focus on artificial intelligence (AI) strategy.. Providing forward-looking legal advice on all technology-related matters, including software development, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning initiatives.. Leading the development, implementation, and continuous updating of company policies related to acceptable AI use, AI governance, data privacy, open-source licensing, and intellectual property. Profile: - Demonstrated experience advising on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data privacy. You should understand how LLMs work, how data is used to train them, and the legal nuances of generative AI - Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E) are a plus - Strong working knowledge of global data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA) and a strong grasp of the emerging regulatory landscape for AI and digital services - Proven ability to operate autonomously, lead cross-functional initiatives, and influence executive decision-making. - 10+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house tech experience strongly preferred) with a deep focus on product counseling, regulatory compliance, and technology transactions - Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory risks into practical, actionable business advice for technical and non-technical stakeholders alike - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar - Prior experience building or scaling an AI Governance framework or AI review committee - Background or undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
