Join Thomson Reuters as a Principal UX Designer, where you will lead the design of AI-powered experiences across multiple product lines. You will be responsible for driving and implementing AI design strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and advocating for user-centered design principles. This role requires extensive design experience, strong interaction design skills, and a deep understanding of AI technologies. Key missions: Lead the end-to-end design of AI-powered experiences across multiple product lines, including agentic workflows, generative interactions, and human-in-the-loop systems.. Collaborate and work cross-functionally with design, program, engineering, data science, and product teams from design concept to design solution, setting UX guidelines and creating assets to ensure bar-raising quality all the way to market.. Mentor and coach designers across the organization, elevating design craft and strategic thinking, and model best practices in design process, critique, and collaboration. Profile: - Ability to prototype using tools such as v0, Figma Make, Cursor, Python notebooks, model sandboxes, or no-code AI orchestration tools - Confidence working in strong, passionate, fast-paced team environments - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies in high-velocity, cross-functional teams - Hands-on experience planning and executing end-to-end user research—defining objectives, recruiting participants, moderating studies, synthesizing insights, and translating findings into roadmap and design decisions - Strong portfolio of work that illustrates your process, your level of craft, and the measurable results you have driven, with demonstrated end-to-end ownership of complex workflows - Extensive design experience creating simple solutions for complex challenges - Experience designing with AI or LLM technologies, including prompt design, generative UX, and evaluating model output quality - Strong time-management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills - Experience working across teams to synthesize feedback and input from product management, engineering, data science, and marketing - Strong interaction design skills with the ability to simplify ambiguous AI behaviors into predictable, user-centered experiences - Deep understanding of model behaviors and limitations—hallucinations, confidence levels, deterministic vs. probabilistic output, and data quality impacts - Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills that include experience presenting and influencing senior leadership - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Experience reducing product silos by delivering interconnected solutions that improve customer experience across multiple products - Experience designing solutions across a product suite with complex workflows for specialized and sometimes niche customers - Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement designs in complex organizational environments - Experience envisioning and delivering solutions for large-scope projects filled with complexity that often cross organizational boundaries - Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent - Ability to design intuitive search, drafting, and review workflows—especially those involving complex knowledge structures or trust-critical decision moments - Demonstrated history of acquiring user data through conducting usability studies, performing user research, and synthesizing analytics - Comfort working with model-evaluation tooling, analytics dashboards, and prompt or version-management systems to understand and refine AI behavior - Strength in shaping information architecture for large-scale content ecosystems, including clear citation patterns, confidence signals, and quality indicators - Familiarity with domain-heavy environments—such as tax and accounting, legal research, compliance, risk and fraud, or financial analysis—and the ability to translate complexity into usable experiences - Experience shipping zero-to-one products, iterating rapidly through ambiguity to test hypotheses, derisk bets, and accelerate product-market fit - Track record of mentoring designers and elevating design practice across organizations
