About the role
Role Overview
Join Docker as a Principal Solutions Architect to support Docker’s most important customers. The role blends product development collaboration with pre- and post-sales technical engagement, acting as a trusted technical lead to drive measurable business and technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical lead and thought leader for key customers.
- Partner with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, Post Sales, and Product teams to deliver customer impact.
- Build and manage customer engagement plans.
- Oversee design-partner rapid prototyping engagements with Docker engineering and customer teams to validate fit for new use cases.
- Create high-impact enablement content and materials to support best-practice adoption.
- Gather and translate field feedback into actionable input for engineering and product.
- Support customer teams focused on improving developer workflows across container and AI journeys.
Requirements
- Experience developing customer-facing collateral for best-practice adoption.
- Ability to manage technical and business-level customer relationships.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, DevOps, and modern application architectures.
- Strong problem-solving skills; able to translate customer experience into engineering feedback.
- Proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect in complex enterprise environments.
- Ability to develop application code and understand day-to-day developer challenges.
- Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience presenting solutions and demos to both small and large audiences (virtual and in-person).
- Fluent English.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Docker, container ecosystems, or adjacent technologies.
- Experience with Agentic AI development, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and/or Software Supply Chain Security.
- Experience interfacing with internal teams (technical support, product, engineering) to improve documentation, enablement, and product features.
