About the role

Role Overview

Principal Software Engineer for a cloud-native SaaS platform supporting global creative teams. The role is remote with occasional travel every 2 months, working 9am–6pm EST. You will own architecture and modernization, drive scalability/performance/reliability, and lead a cross-functional engineering team while still writing production code.

Responsibilities

Lead the architectural direction and modernization of a large-scale SaaS platform
Improve scalability, performance, and reliability
Build and extend backend features using .NET and AWS serverless services
- e.g., AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS (and related services)
Provide engineering leadership and guidance to backend, frontend, DevOps, QA, and offshore engineers
Implement and uphold engineering best practices and code standards
Partner with Product leadership to deliver high-quality releases

Requirements

10+ years building SaaS applications
3+ years as a Principal Engineer or Tech Lead
Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and xUnit
1+ year AWS experience with services such as:
- Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFormation, RDS, DynamoDB, EC2, Cognito
Strong system architecture and distributed systems expertise
Ability to review and guide React/TypeScript development
Excellent leadership and collaboration skills

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Work/Eligibility

Remote, 9am–6pm EST
Direct hire only (no C2C / no third parties)
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
