About the role

Role Overview

As a Principal Software Engineer (Senior-level in the description), you will ship production code from day one and lead mission-critical engineering projects. You’ll build systems that help customers digitize operations, automate underwriting/document workflows, and scale reliable job processing infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

Architect, build, and launch complex multi-step AI agents used to digitize ops workflows and deliver large cost savings.
Integrate with 3rd-party lending services APIs to generate documents/disclosures, automate underwriting results, and help prevent fraud.
Build the next generation of job processing infrastructure on AWS with strong observability and reliability.
Contribute to a high-velocity engineering culture through strong developer experience, testing, and reproducible infrastructure.

Tech Stack (Core)

TypeScript (end-to-end; generated types from Postgres/GraphQL)
React (frontend)
Node.js / Express (backend, running in Docker)
GraphQL / Apollo (both sides)
PostgreSQL
AWS: ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, Kafka, Elasticsearch, etc.
Terraform for infrastructure-as-code
Docker, plus CI that deploys temporary staging environments per pull request

Preferred Skills / Background

Familiarity with modern AI product lifecycles (evals, experiment design, dataset curation) and turning non-deterministic LLMs into reliable systems.
Strong security mindset when handling sensitive personal data.
Product-oriented thinking and willingness to propose improvements.
Ability to develop readable, maintainable architecture patterns for enterprise customers.
Enthusiasm to mentor less senior engineers.
SRE-oriented mindset for reliable, observable, low-toil infrastructure.
Experience scaling high-throughput distributed systems in the cloud.
Bonus: Terraform or CloudFormation experience.
Bonus/Additional strengths: full-stack features from design to deployment; designing/scaling complex relational schemas for performant storage and access.
