About the role

Role Overview

Join Palo Alto Networks as a Principal Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a Cloud Management Platform. You’ll provide technical leadership within a world-class QA team, helping deliver reliable, secure cloud products.

Responsibilities

Participate across the full quality assurance lifecycle, from defining test scope to executing functional tests.
Collaborate with development and product management teams to test, present results, and identify improvements.
Build, automate, and run functional testing scenarios to drive efficiency and reliability.
Lead test automation efforts within and across cross-functional teams.
Contribute to design discussions and pursue technical/operational excellence.

Requirements

4+ years of related experience (MSEE/CS or BS/CS preferred) with a background in Networking Security or equivalent experience.
Experience working with QA test and/or automation teams in Cloud or Network security, including REST APIs.
Deep understanding of testing methodologies and strong functional testing experience.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Python scripting, including running and debugging existing scripts.
Experience testing Firewall or Network Security appliances.
Knowledge of cloud-based deployments (preferred: AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI).

Nice to Have

Experience with commercial test tools such as Spirent Avalanche, IX Load, or BreakingPoint.
Experience with Linux and open-source tools.
