Principal Product Manager (Platform Security)

Role Overview

Join Workiva as a Principal Product Manager (Platform Security). You will lead a strategic Account Security initiative within the Platform organization—defining, building, and scaling a premium security offering to support platform security strategy and go-to-market success.

Responsibilities

• Define, build, and scale a premium enterprise security product offering.
• Deliver 0 → 1 product outcomes from concept to market.
• Shape platform-wide security strategy across engineering, design, security, and go-to-market.
• Identify market opportunities and customer needs to create differentiated enterprise security capabilities.
• Enable advanced security features including:
  • Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
  • Hold Your Own Key (HYOK)
  • Advanced Audit Logging
  • Other enterprise-grade security capabilities.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science (or related technical field).
• Track record delivering and scaling 0 → 1 products.
• 10+ years of Product Management experience, with significant time in platform or infrastructure products.
• Experience launching enterprise/SaaS security products, especially around:
  • Encryption
  • Key management
  • Audit/compliance
• Prior engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), including:
  • Authentication & Authorization frameworks (OAuth, SAML, RBAC/ABAC)
  • Multi-tenant system design
• Expertise in encryption and key management concepts, including BYOK, HYOK, and KMS integrations.
• Strong ability to balance usability, security, and compliance.
• Reliable internet access while working remotely and willingness to travel (up to 20%) for customer/stakeholder meetings.

• Experience collaborating across multiple teams as a platform-level thought leader (influencing without direct authority).
