Principal Product Manager

Role overview

Join Headway as a Principal Product Manager to lead complex product areas and shape the strategy for a major product domain. You’ll work with high autonomy—defining problems from first principles, setting roadmaps, and shipping meaningful products with measurable results.

Key missions

• Define product strategy for an important product domain, identifying the highest-leverage bets and aligning stakeholders.
• Lead product development and launches from planning through execution, ensuring measurable outcomes.
• Elevate PM craft within the team by setting standards of excellence and mentoring other product managers.

Responsibilities

• Own large, complex product domains end-to-end.
• Drive alignment across multiple teams and influence the broader product organization.
• Present strategy to leadership, field hard questions, and secure buy-in without formal authority.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience owning large, complex domains end-to-end.
• Proven ability to influence at the executive level.
• Deep technical fluency: comfortable having architectural conversations, challenging assumptions, and making informed build-vs-buy decisions.
• Strong track record of 0→1 building and scaling; also meaningfully improving existing products at scale.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity by clearly defining and solving the right problem.

Nice to have / additional signals

• AI-fluency: experience evaluating and deploying AI-powered features responsibly, with a clear point of view on where AI drives real product leverage.
• Experience shaping org-level strategy (not only team roadmaps).
