About the role
Role Overview
Join Lonely Planet (Red Ventures) as a Principal Product Manager (Digital & Commerce). You will lead the evolution of Lonely Planet’s web experiences and the platforms that power them, focusing on engagement, conversion, membership growth, and revenue.
Key Missions / Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the product roadmap across Lonely Planet’s digital surfaces, translating traveler and business goals into a prioritized, coherent strategy.
- Use analytics, experimentation, and behavioral insights to guide decisions and measure impact, with direct ownership of metrics such as:
- CVR (conversion rate)
- RPV (revenue per visitor)
- AOV (average order value)
- Engagement depth
- Membership growth
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Design, Engineering, Editorial, Marketing, and App, unblocking decisions and maintaining momentum.
- Collaborate on platform capabilities, including requirements for engineering and shared internal tooling, plus integration/partnership product scoping.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience, with progression into Staff/Principal scope.
- SEO, content discovery, or audience growth experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management; able to influence across teams without direct authority.
- Strong eCommerce background with hands-on Shopify experience (configuration, commerce operations, and engineering requirements).
- Deep analytics and funnel data fluency; comfortable using behavioral insights and business metrics.
- Proven portfolio-level ownership managing multiple interconnected product areas with measurable business leverage.
- AI fluency: active use of AI tools in product practice with clear instincts for where it adds leverage.
- Demonstrated ability to raise team performance through frameworks and ways of working.
- Background or affinity for travel, media, or publishing.

- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and modern frontend frameworks.
- Experience with membership/subscriptions and authenticated user products.
- Experience building platform capabilities, APIs, or shared internal tools.
- Experience scoping and delivering partnership integration products.
