About the role

Role Overview

Join Confluent as a Principal Product Manager for Apache Flink. This is a high-leverage Individual Contributor role where you own the end-to-end product strategy and execution across Confluent Cloud and Confluent Platform.

Key Missions

Define and drive the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for Apache Flink across cloud and on-prem/local deployments.
Establish structured processes to align stakeholders across Product, Engineering, GTM, and leadership.
Identify high-impact product opportunities in adjacent areas such as:
- AI
- Data engineering
- Data storage
- Event-driven applications

Responsibilities

Own and deliver product strategy for complex cloud data products serving customers from data engineers to software developers.
Lead product development across the full lifecycle, including scaling from early product-market fit to meaningful revenue.
Work on commercialization strategy, including leveraging open-source community approaches.
Translate technical domains into product plans and execution.

Requirements

10+ years of product management experience for technical software or cloud service products.
Deep expertise in distributed systems and data engineering.
Demonstrated track record in areas such as data infrastructure, analytics, and real-time/streaming systems.
Hands-on technical background; comfortable with systems design, API design, and multiple languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, SQL).

Nice-to-Haves

Domain expertise in streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark.
Experience with open-source software and community-led commercialization.
