About the role
Role Overview
Join Workiva as a Principal Product Designer to lead and shape user experience strategy across multiple products within the Workiva Platform. You will drive end-to-end UX from discovery through delivery, while continuously optimizing outcomes using clear success metrics.
Key Missions / Responsibilities
- Lead UX strategy across multiple products, defining experience direction from discovery through delivery and continuous optimization.
- Uncover user needs (explicit and latent) through research, stakeholder engagement, and systems-level analysis.
- Translate insights into scalable workflows, shaping cohesive, ecosystem-level experiences.
- Mentor senior designers and elevate craft standards to ensure consistent, high-quality UX across teams.
- Ensure UX alignment with business goals.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional UX/product design experience with a track record of shipping successful products.
- Mastery-level Figma skills and strong user-centered design expertise.
- Strong systems thinking and visual design capabilities.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, frameworks, and methodologies applied across the product lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills to use data/analytics to inform design decisions.
- Expert communication and stakeholder influence skills.
- Reliable internet access for remote work.
- Portfolio demonstrating expert design aptitude.
- Experience leveraging AI in UX as a force multiplier (discovery, prototyping, research synthesis, workflow modeling) and ability to design responsible AI-powered experiences.
- Experience designing AI-experiences that turn machine intelligence (e.g., LLMs, recommendations, automation, predictive models) into usable, trustworthy interactions.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.

- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent education/experience) in a related field (stated as a requirement/equivalent).
