About the role

Role Overview

Principal Product Designer (Systems Designer) to define the foundational Information Architecture for a new AI-enabled IDE. You’ll operate at the intersection of UX, platform architecture, and agentic AI, creating interaction models that balance natural-language speed with governance requirements for regulated industries.

What You’ll Do

Define core mental models for an AI-enabled IDE, including projects, modules, components, and services
Architect system logic for complex data workflows (dependencies, versioning, state, environments)
Lead AI-native interaction design where natural language is the primary interface for generation and iteration
Design for AI reliability, including validation/troubleshooting frameworks with human oversight and reversibility
Bridge technical abstractions by partnering with architects to convert configuration-driven systems into intuitive developer experiences
Scale enterprise governance in the UX (auditability, compliance, and permissions) without sacrificing speed

What You Bring

10+ years of product design experience
Background designing developer platforms, IDEs, or internal tools for enterprise/regulated software
Strong systems thinking with deep expertise in Information Architecture and how engineers plan, build, test, and deploy
Comfort designing declarative systems, complex state, and traceable workflows
AI-first mindset: experience embedding AI with focus on trust, explainability, and failure modes
Ability to define new interaction paradigms in ambiguous spaces

Bonus

Experience building high-scale developer platforms, modern AI labs, or enterprise-grade orchestration tools
