Role overview

Principal Product Designer at Unmind to shape complex, cross-platform journeys for members and clients. The role focuses on helping people find the right support at the right moment, and on delivering measurable, lasting change.

What you’ll do

Lead design of complex journeys across web and mobile (members finding, understanding, and accessing support).
Shape product strategy and roadmap through research synthesis, analytics, concept exploration, and future-state prototyping—connecting design decisions to outcomes.
Produce high-quality design work for web/mobile experiences, including:
- complex workflows
- edge cases
- error states
- moments requiring trust, clarity, and “human care”.
Explore AI-enabled, personalised, or data-informed experiences that are useful, transparent, safe, and human.
Design client-facing experiences that help organizations understand engagement, outcomes, and value.
Build lightweight research and learning practices to test assumptions quickly and improve product decisions.
Help evolve the design system and product patterns at scale to strengthen consistency, accessibility, adoption, and craft.
Model beautiful, rigorous product design for complex member and client needs.

About you (requirements)

Significant product design experience, ideally in complex B2B2C enterprise SaaS environments.
Ability to create coherent experiences across web and mobile, balancing system consistency with platform-specific interaction patterns.
Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership: ambiguity framing, strategy shaping, and detailed quality shipping.
Experience owning or significantly shaping a design system at scale, including governance and adoption.
Comfortable setting direction with autonomy while maintaining a high bar.
Strong written and verbal communication, able to clearly explain design decisions to engineers, product managers, and executives.
Ability to mentor/elevate designers without formal management.
Thoughtful use of AI in the design process (discovery → synthesis → prototyping → delivery).

Nice to haves

Experience with AI-enabled personalization/data-informed design, including transparent and safety-conscious approaches.

Location / working model

UK based, remote-first with monthly travel to London.
